IPD PROGRAMME
Innovative Partnerships for Development (IPD) Programme
Danida’s Innovative Partnerships for Development (IPD) Programme has been designed to support the development of the private sector. It seeks to engage companies and organisations in promoting various aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Objectives
Improving the working and living conditions for employees in Nepal, their families, the local community and society at large by advancing Corporate Social Responsibility and Socially Responsible Innovation. These are achieved through long-term public private partnerships within the framework of United Nation’s Global Compact and Millenium Develpment Goals (MDGs).
Development impact criteria
The development impact of an IPD proposal is assessed through the following six criteria:
1. Promotion of human and workers’ rights
2. Protection and improvement of the environment
3. Promotion of sound business practices
4. Promotion of gender equality and empowerment of women
5. Combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
6. Promotion of innovative partnerships for investments and competitiveness
Company requirements
In order to obtain IPD support the companies must fulfil the criteria listed in section 2.3 of the IPD guidelines.
Support
The IPD Programme can offer expertise, access to networks, credibility, and knowledge of local conditions. The programme contributes to two distinct phases of a partnership, namely the Preparatory Phase and the Implementation Phase.
In the Preparatory Phase, the partnership idea is discussed and developed. In this process, additional partners might need to be identified. Danida can assist in identifying potential partners and assist the partners to develop the partnership idea. Additionally, Danida can provide financial support for a study. The maximum level of support in the Preparatory Phase is 60% of the total budget up to a limit of DKK 25,000 for study visits and DKK 250,000 for preliminary studies in total.
In the Implementation Phase, the partnership idea is implemented. Danida can support this, especially by financing training, education, dissemination of information and development of CSR tools that contribute to advancing one or more Global Compact principles. The maximum level of support is 60% up to a ceiling of DKK 5 million, minus previous support granted during the Preparatory Phase.
There are three possible types of partnership in the IPD Programme. For further information on IPD Programme, log on to
